How to evaluate the wetting speed and surface tension reduction ability of wetting agents in water-based color pastes and water-based inks?

I. Comparison of wetting rate between competitive and standard wetting agents:

First, weigh 100 grams of water each.

Then add 1 gram of phthalocyanine blue pigment powder to each.

At the same time, add 1 drop of competitive wetting agent and 1 drop of standard wetting agent Huaye Wetting Agent 1040, respectively, and start timing.

The wetting agent with the shortest time to fully dissolve the phthalocyanine blue in water is the best, indicating better wetting properties.

II. Comparison of surface tension reduction between competitive and standard wetting agents:

Preparation of wetting agent water solution.

2、Add 0.4g of wetting agent aqueous solution on glass plates respectively, and the conclusion is that the wetting agent with the largest droplet diameter has the best ability to reduce surface tension.

四、conclusion

The Huayue 1040 wetting agent has strong permeability and excellent ability to reduce surface tension. It has good wetting and penetration properties on substrates such as glass plates, tinplate, and wood, and can prevent droplet marks and improve coating smoothness.
